Electronic Trailer Modification (ETM)
Contract: White Sands Missile Range, NM; 4/92 - 7/92
EMI refurbished and modified an existing GFE Electronics Trailer for White Sands. Modifications included installing interior/exterior wiring and lighting, patch panel, two 10 kW generators, cable storage reel, detachable slide-out porch assembly with handrails and rear stairway, equipment racks with work station, GFE ECU and associated ductwork, 1500 lb. capacity liftgate, quick-disconnect window covers, underside storage box and spare tire carrier. Refurbishment included servicing the landing gear and air brake system, foaming and undercoating the undercarriage, and painting the van exterior.

Global Positioning System (GPS) Vans (Catalog #05000-001)
Contract: White Sands Missile Range, NM; 5/93 - 10/95
Four 48-foot instrumentation vans for use at remote field locations were provided for WSMR. EMI procured dry freight vans and engineered and performed modifications on each van according to requirements. This included insulation, wiring and lighting, environmental conditioning and interior finish. Three rooms provide entry/storage area, a main work area with equipment racks and computer work stations, and a kitchen/storage area. Communications and safety equipment were installed. Optional features were roof platform with access ladder, telescoping pneumatic mast and compressor and camera mount platform.

Instrumentation Test Van (ITV) (Catalog #05000-002)
Contract: Eglin Air Force Base, FL; 4/94 - 2/95
EMI purchased and modified two 53-foot dry freight vans to provide field deployable electro-optical data collection systems for Eglin. One van enhances the munitions evaluation capabilities of the Seeker Test Van, and the other expands the electro-optical target signature data collection capabilities of the Ground Electro-Optical Test System. The vans are partitioned into work, living, and storage areas and are furnished with equipment racks, work tables, storage and file cabinets, and kitchen equipment. All required wiring, lighting, PA system, environmental conditioning and safety equipment were installed by EMI.

Y2K Testbed Weather Van (Catalog #5000-012)
Contract: DP Associates for Hurlburt Field, FL; 9/99 - 4/00
The Y2K Van is a commercial 53-foot dry freight van, modified by EMI to serve as a weather van. The van is insulated, wired, lighted and air conditioned. A personnel door with step assembly is provided on the curbside wall. An insulated weatherproof wall with personnel door is installed in the rear, recessed from the rear doors which are accessed by a 10-foot entry ramp. Interior is finished with carpeted walls, raised computer tile floor, and acoustical tile ceiling. A movable partitioning wall is installed. The rear entry area is finished with fiberglass reinforced paneling on the walls and non-slip aluminum treadplate on the floor. Equipment racks on slides, fold-down work surfaces, and emergency and safety equipment are installed. I/O panels and dual data jacks are provided. Four 48-inch belly boxes are installed on the exterior. EMI built a second unit which is essentially the same, with an addition of a roof deck with safety rail system and permanently mounted roof ladder.
AVCATT-A AAR/BMC Suite (Catalog #05000-016)

The Aviation Combined Arms Tactical Training System (AVCATT-A) is a portable training device system consisting of two modified 53-ft. commercial trailers which are separately transportable but which are connected and mutually interdependent when set up for operation. The trailers house the training device system, consisting of specialized training simulators, visual displays and electronics. The After Action Review (AAR) trailer provides meeting space with seating at graduated levels, projectors, viewing screen, training rooms, and associated electronic equipment. The Battle Master Control (BMC) Trailer is a "working" trailer housing three training rooms, BMC and role player equipment racks, and fold-down work surfaces. Both trailers provide underneath storage for peripheral equipment needed for operation. EMI finished the interiors with carpeted walls, suspended acoustical tile ceilings and raised computer floors, and installed air ride kingpin, HVAC system, interior/exterior wiring and lighting, fire alarm and other emergency equipment, and connecting walkway, step assemblies and awning. EMI provided shock protection and installed customer-furnished equipment.
Bechtel Atlas Trailer Refurbishment (Catalog #05000-021)
Customer: Bechtel Neveda, Las Vegas, NV; 3/03-9/03
EMI completely refurbished the interior and exterior of two existing 12.5-foot x 64-foot trailers. The trailers were stripped of all equipment and interior finish materials. Load centers, some electrical wiring, and a fire suppression system were retained. Additional wiring and cable trays were installed. Fire retardant plywood was used throughout. Walls and ceiling are finished with commercial carpet; Part of the raised floor is finished with carpet, part with removable computer tile. Ambient and task lighting illuminate work areas. New 6-ton air conditioning units, and modified ducting are provided. Eight patch panels and feedthrough connectors were installed. Equipment racks with doors, some roll-around and some mounted on slides, were provided and installed. Furnishings include fixed and fold-down countertop work surfaces with electrical plug strips, task lighting, whiteboards, and overhead metal storage cabinets. EMI completely refurbished and repainted the exteriors and applied customer logos. A detachable, 10-foot wide central walkway and stairs, and an awning system connects the two trailers when parked side-by-side.
