100-foot Tower Trailers (Catalog #02000-005)
Contract: White Sands Missile Range; 5/93 - 9/93
EMI engineered and fabricated two telescopic tower trailer systems, designed to travel over unimproved roads and to provide self-contained, autonomous operation at remote, semi-improved sites. The 25-foot trailers meet military specs for Class II vehicles. The towers telescope from a minimum of 30' to 100' and are equipped with 500 lb. capacity outrigger arms with guying system tensioners. Trailers are wired for firm and on-board power, provided by 4500 W gasoline generators with solar powered battery chargers. They are equipped with antenna feed cable storage reels, storage boxes for hardware and guying kit, and LPJ electronics storage boxes. They are also equipped with lightning protection and floodlights.
Race Car Trailer
Contract: Fox Motorsports, Las Cruces, NM; 6/95 - 2/96
EMI contracted with Fox Motorsports to convert a used CFE 48-foot dry freight van into a race vehicle support van. The van required complete refurbishment, inside and out. EMI re-secured loose roof and wall siding to the support members, fabricated personnel/freight entrances on each side of the van, and fabricated a winch-operated swing-down door in the rear to provide a ramp for driving the race vehicle into the van. EMI completely refurbished the interior and exterior and provided kitchen/living quarters and restroom facility. The rear of the van houses race car and maintenance equipment.
